10 senior housing units will be established, including 2 accessible housing units with an attached caregiver. The housing units will be adapted for self-reliant seniors, but all housing units will be constructed without steps and without bottoms in doors.

The two accessible homes have call systems and associated accommodation for care staff (24-hour care) with direct access. The care staff have a washing room with drying table and sink. The accessible homes have lifts in the bedroom and bathroom, and other bathing facilities (bath lift, chairs or bathtub) are also included.

The building is oriented with a view to the north from the living room and terrace. Storage rooms are located close to the homes with covered space for bicycles or disabled scooters, as well as waste management for each home.

Maintenance costs must be kept to a minimum in connection with the choice of materials for construction.

The building is being constructed in sub-area C03* Local area C3, Municipal plan 1993-2005 for Aasiaat with supplement* (C3 AAS1000.) Homes must be connected to water and sewerage pipes. The residential road connects from Sioraleeqqamiit, next to the Spar store to the end of the residential area Aadarujuup aqquserna.
