Hans and Karen Holm's house is located at Aqqaluks Plads in Nuuk, a historic area with buildings worthy of preservation and listed buildings, and next to the Arctic Gardens.

General provisions ensure that the area is kept open for public recreational use, so that the good urban space is preserved and strengthened with respect for the landscape and original character.

The building will be renovated externally with vertical, Swedish red wood cladding and white windows. The interior will be converted from its original function as a residence to exhibition purposes.

From the porch there is a central entrance hall with access to an accessible toilet, kitchen and exhibition room. The entrance hall welcomes guests with information about the history of the house and ongoing activities.
The kitchen is compact but has space to prepare and handle drinks and other catering for events. The attic is used for storage.

The exhibition space can be used for art exhibitions, sales exhibitions, children's activities, book launches, lectures and tourist presentations.
The three large windows face south and provide a clear view of Hans Egede's Church and the Kolonihavnen harbor.

The aim is to achieve a quiet and solid character in the design language and materials, which can function as a suitable setting for cultural events.

Hans Holm was one of the first employees of Greenlandic Radio (KNR) and placed great emphasis on the correct use of the Greenlandic language. As a young man he was an athlete and later a member of the board of the Greenland Sports Association. Hans was married to Karen Holm, who was a bookbinder for many years in the printing house Kujataata Naqiterivia. She was employed by the printing house in 1946 and trained many new employees in the bookbinder trade during her 43-year career.
